Vail in August :)

Some of my friends and I went to the Blomgren condo in Eagle-Vail this past weekend!  We had a really great time eating, talking, watching a few chick flicks, playing games, eating, and walking around Vail!  Thanks Blomgrens for a great time away from life in the Springs.
The whole gang: Ashley, Liz, Johanna, Grace, Katie & myself
(Jo & Liz)
We walked from Lionshead to Vail, it's not that far but the pregnant lady needed a break!!!

Keeping Up!

Here is a picture of the books I have in my possession right now!  How is a new mom supposed to read all of these books?  My solution: read the chapters that most interest me!  We are so blessed to have such amazing resources right at our fingertips but it's almost overwhelming at times!  I want to be an educated new mom and know what my options for labor & delivery are but... sometimes too much information can overwhelm me!  Just thought I'd share those few thoughts :)

He Brings Me Joy!!

Yes, it's true... Joy came to visit! :)
We had a great time and she was able to get one more trip in before her school year starts. Her husband was the one who set up the trip! What a thoughtful friend to send her my way for a little company and one last hurrah for her. Disk, you're the best!
We relaxed at a pool one afternoon :)
Steve came to visit too! He flew into Denver and had a whole day to kill so he hopped on a flight to CSCO! We got to show him a good time Saturday night.
So thrilled our Cubbies beat those Rockies!! Go Cubs gooooo....
What? It's Coors Field... they make you drink Coors!
And of course, the beautiful Garden of the Gods!
Thanks for coming Joy. I had a really great time with you! See you in April :)

So Thankful for Creativity!

My family and friends are so creative!  The above picture shows you that much! My Grandma Goldie made this beautiful yellow blanket which is so soft and the perfect size :)  My friend Allison made the cute Loch Ness booties and hat (she's living in Scotland right now :)). And, my mom made the sweet little sock booties!!  I am so thankful for these precious hand made gifts. Thank you so much!  Baby girl will look so cute dressed in/wrapped in these things made with love!

Diaper Days A Comin'

This is a picture of a friend of ours (he will remain nameless). But, I pray David is nothing like him when he gets home to help change diapers :)

Saddam's Cell

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to see where Saddam spent his last days on earth. His cell was small, as you can see below. For those that want to learn more about his life, I would recommend the HBO 4 part mini-series House of Saddam.

A Way We Stay Connected

One of the things I started doing to help feel connected with David was to take a daily picture before I leave the house. I sometimes forget on the weekends since there isn't as much structure but ever weekday I get a picture to him to say I love you and good morning! Here's Wrigley and I this morning sending out love to David :)

2 Years Ago Today...

...David & I left for Asia together!! Now he's there without me :( It's a slightly different adventure that he's on right now than the one we took in 2007.
In case you weren't following us then we took a 2 month backpacking trip extravaganza! We had a blast exploring together and revisiting some beloved Asian places as well as discovering some new ones. We went to Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand & Nepal. We are so thankful we took the opportunity and saved for such a fun trip together. We slept in airports, had a few really sick days, met up with my aunt & uncle, hiked to Everest Base Camp (go us!), tried to surf, and also tried some new foods. What great memories. I only have a few pictures on our computer but please check out our blog posts in August & September (2007) for a few better ones.
On our way back from Everest Base Camp and feeling pretty victorious!
David with the beautiful Ama Dablam, in Nepal
Me at the Dirty Duck (a beautiful restaurant facing rice paddies) in Bali, Indonesia
Shangkar, Ram, David & "Mother" in Nepal.
I met Shangkar in 2000 when I went to Nepal and David met him in 2001 (I introduced them). We'd kept in fairly good contact with him and tried to find him when we were in Kathmandu. We did find him and he took us to his Mother's house where we experienced some real Nepali life. Sadly, Shangkar has passed away since our visit.
Thanks for taking a look back at our once in a lifetime trip!

Me + A Mustache = Totally Awesome

And by "totally awesome," I mean totally embarrasing.

Since my internet connection isn't the best here, I thought I would start adding a photo or two every other day or so. Here's the first:

All of the attorneys here are doing a 2-month mustache contest. 2 months is a long time to wear this nastiness. However, sad to say...mine is not the worst. It's definitely not the best, but there is a lot of patchiness going around. Here I am at week 2.
We smoke cigars once a week on a rooftop. Good times...just like Boston Legal (without the scotch). I will definitely miss these nights.

Welcome to the 3rd Trimester :)

Cheers to entering the final three months of this pregnancy!  Here's Kelly's belly at 28 weeks!  The last two weeks have been so tiring all the sudden.  I know everyone talks about hitting that wall in pregnancy where you are just so exhausted but I don't think I'm quite there yet.  I'm just feeling more sleepy throughout the day and not sleeping as hard at night... strange I know.  I still haven't had any weird cravings, maybe I'm out of that stage.  I always wondering about weird cravings pregnant women had, it's interesting to hear about :)  I have almost lost my appetite actually.  It's weird, food doesn't appeal to me in the same way it did before the baby.  Not sure if the reason behind that is less room in my tummy for food or just more changing hormones?  Either way, all changes during the process are exciting as I realize how it means she is growing and healthy.  Hope y'all are doing well too, take care!
