Baby Dedication

Last Sunday we had the privilege of dedicating Norah to the Lord. It was a wonderful time of prayer for Norah's life and encouragement for us as parents. We are blessed to have so many family and friends that have been and will continue to pray for Norah and her life. When we got home from church that afternoon, we talked about how God has "loaned" Norah to us to take care of and nurture during these upcoming years. We are so honored and grateful to be Norah's parents! We are excited for this adventure of parenthood and even more excited to see Norah grow into the woman God has created her to be! Thanks for joining us on this journey.

Here's a picture of most of our friends who came to support Norah and us as we commit her to Him! From L to R: Katie, us, Orrs, Marshalls (sorry we missed you Cross')

Ain't she a doll?

Cutest face ever...
(she gets mad in the middle of nursing and it was too cute to resist!)
All better after some snuggles and more milk from mom!

A Great Weekend in Denver

You see David has never celebrated Valentines Day with me! He is anti v-day since he thinks it's all a scheme to make money (which it basically is). This year, he sacrificed his beliefs and planned a really fun weekend away from home for all four of us! We had two nice dinners and stayed two nights at the JW Marriott in Denver which allows dogs to join for free! What an added bonus. We had an awesome time and were so relaxed. Here are some pictures from the fun times.
Norah's got a funny look on her face but it's still cute :)
Wrigley and Norah both are still fascinated with each other.
A really delicious glass of wine from our trip to CA last month! Norah wants in on it.
Our 9th valentines "togther" and the 1st time to celebrate! Go David!
My loves all relaxing together and watching Ice Age.
Shopping at The Container Store! It was pretty fun but too tempting to buy stuff you don't really need. Until next year.... :)

David Hames Update

From yesterday:
Remains believed to be that of our dear friend, David Adam Hames, have been recovered from the Hotel Montana and are in the custody of the U.S. government, waiting to be transferred to Dover(DE) for final forensic examination. We don’t know how long this final examination will take nor how long it will take the military to transport the remains to Dover due to the snowstorm on the East Coast.
This morning:
“The death of one that belongs to him is precious to the Lord.” (Ps. 116:15)
The remains of David Hames were identified by the State Department this morning. We know that our dear brother and friend is in heaven, but even so, Renee is grieving the loss of the man she loved with all her heart. Our faith in God is not shaken by this terrible tragedy, but we still mourn the loss of this adoring husband, amazing daddy, and faithful friend. We all know David loved Jesus, and we know that he is safe today, at home with our Heavenly Father. Now we will band together to care for his sweet wife and their two young boys.

Broccoli & 3-Cheese Lasagna

I am SO enjoying my time at home and am trying to make the best of some spare minutes to try cooking. Now, if you know me well you know that I don't know anything about cooking but... I'm trying and having fun with it too! Here's to hoping to find more meals that are yummy and that i like!

We had this yummy lasagna the other night for dinner and thought I would share! It's a little heavy/rich so plan on one good sized piece instead of two like me (I ended up with a tummy ache).

Ingredients:
15 oz. ricotta
1#frozen broccoli florets - thawed, patted dry & chopped
2 1/4 cups grated mozzarella
1/2 cup grated parmesan
Salt & Pepper
16 oz. marinara sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
8 no-boil lasagna noodles

Directions:
*Preheat oven to 400 degrees
*In a large bowl combine the ricotta, broccoli, 2 cups of the mozzarella, 1/4 cup of parmesan, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. In a small bowl, combine marinara and cream.
*Spoon in a then layer of the sauce into the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish. Top with 2 noodles, a quarter of the remaining sauce, and a third of the broccoli mixture; repeat twice. Top with the remaining 2 noodles and sauce. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup of mozarella and 1/4 cup of parmesan.
*Cover tightly with an oiled piece of foil and bake until the noddles are tender, 35-40 min. *Uncover and bake until the top is golden brown, 10-15 min

My Day in Pictures

So, I'm not that artistic but... my wonderful friend Abby challenged me to draw my day in pictures and share it! Here's what I got for yesterday!
P.S. I have a hard time not explaining what things are since I know my drawings don't do my wonderful Sunday justice!
